Home Run Heroes: Shaping Kresston's Future in Magnolia, TX

Welcome to Crossroads, a highlight of the amazing people which make up the town surrounding Kresston by Johnson Development. At Crossroads, we're bridging the gap between community and development.

I can't imagine a better place to work as far as being a teacher and a coach. It's really a special place. If I was to kind of narrow it down to one word, it would be family. The staff is a family. It feels like these kids that come in our doors every day are not just students, you know, they're not just another number, it truly feels like these are our daughters and sons that come through the doors every day.

The baseball around here is extremely good. The athletics around here is extremely good. We have tons of good coaches. It's a place where kids want to come and play baseball. A memorable coaching experience was last year, obviously for us we won a State Championship, which hasn't been done in Magnolia ISD and baseball ever, so it was a very magical year.

What we're doing here is not necessarily baseball related, it's life related. What type of people are we creating sending out into society is the important thing about what we do, and if we take care of those things usually the baseball comes along with it. So, the word "Community" to me means are people invested in what, you know, in where you live- that's the cool thing about this community. Whether you go to the Little League, whether you go to the mayor's office, whether you go to City Hall, you're going to find people that are truly invested in what's going on here. They're truly invested in making sure this community and the people that run through here, especially the kiddos, have the right values when they leave this place.

I can't imagine a better one to raise my kids in.

My name is Travis Earles, and I am the head baseball coach of Magnolia West High School.
