Welcome to Crossroads, a highlight of the amazing people which make up the town surrounding Kresston by Johnson Development. At Crossroads, we're bridging the gap between community and development.
Hi, we're Buddy and Rachel Adams and we own The Meating Place here in Magnolia, Texas. We started the meeting place as a retirement plan. It's just blossomed into what it is today.
I love barbecue. It's a passion. It has always been a passion of mine. Our most popular items here would be the brisket, ribs, baked potatoes, our stuffed baked potatoes. We use a 40 count, which each potato, the minimum weight of the potato itself is going to be about a pound and a quarter. So by the time everything's on there, you've got a good two pound meal.
But it's mostly a platform of meeting people and getting to know people
in the community. I love meeting people. I love talking to people. I love all the
parts that go about that more than the barbecue business itself. Fridays and
Saturdays are our two best nights of the week. We do have live music. Most Fridays and Saturdays. Local people. We use a lot of local artists and they play originals and stuff like that.
If I could describe Magnolia in three words it would be
community, friendship, and family.
If there's anywhere anybody would ever want to live it would be Magnolia because everybody in the community cares about everybody else.
My most memorable experience for The Meating Place would be when we had the freeze - we started out feeding all the first responders just so that they'd make sure to have food then we ended up feeding the community because they had nowhere to eat and then I was given a proclamation and given Buddy Adams Day,
May 11th.
Any and everything that you need is right here. It's just a great small-town atmosphere with big-town amenities.
We are The Meating Place, Barbecue & Bakery.
Welcome to Magnolia.
