Kresston Grand Opening Named Nation’s Best!

Once a year, the National Association of Home Builders names one special event the best in the nation. This year, that special event is Kresston’s grand opening, held in March 2025.

Our rodeo-themed grand opening won a Gold Award in The Nationals competition, a prestigious awards program that honors excellence in sales, marketing, design, planning, and customer experience. It’s an exciting tribute to an event that brought nearly 2,000 people into Kresston and kicked off a tremendous year of milestones — including our first residents, the opening of The Boot House Welcome Center, and the grand opening of the Legends Pointe amenity complex.

The grand opening let people kick up their heels as they listened to performances by three popular country artists — Curtis Grimes, Delaney Anne and headliner Jon Wolfe. Little cowpokes could ride ponies and admire adorable animals at the petting zoo. Carnival rides added to the excitement.

Fletcher’s Corny Dogs brought their Texas State Fair-famed favorites to our grand opening, and Meating Place BBQ served up tasty, meaty treats right off the grill. Guests ages 21 and over could sample wine and local beers.

In true rodeo fashion, we encouraged people to put on their favorite pair of boots — and those that did had a chance to win a pair of Lucchese boots.

The real stars of the grand opening, however, were the decked-out model homes. Professionally decorated, our nine model homes showcased the excellent architecture and construction quality of builders Chesmar Homes, David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, Perry Homes, Village Builders and Westin Homes.

We were thrilled to share the special appeal of Kresston with the nearly 2,000 in attendance and equally as excited to have this signature event — which embodied the vision for our community — win such prestigious recognition nationally.
