The crown jewel of Magnolia’s park system, Unity Park plays host to numerous family-friendly events throughout the year, including concerts, tree lightings, 4th of July festivals and more. Park amenities include an amphitheater, covered pavilion, skateboard park, walking trails, volleyball court, playground, wetlands area, pier, picnic area and splashpad.
Step back in time at the nation’s largest Renaissance festival. Held in October and November, the fair features historic re-enactments, jousting, live music, authentic costumes, fireworks, jugglers, food and beverages.
You don’t have to go far to taste locally made craft beer. The award-winning brewery has libations to suit every taste, including light beers, ales and stouts. Lone Pint also hosts numerous events throughout the year such as live music, jukebox bingo, parties and more.

Located in Conroe, the working urban forest is one of the nation’s largest. In addition to educational opportunities, the forest offers trails to meander, birds to watch, lakes to fish and gardens to dream in.
Big Rivers Waterpark & Adventures
When the heat is on, families hear the call of Big Rivers. The theme park features water and dry land adventures. At the water park, families can experience the lazy river, wave pool and many water slides. On dry land, parkgoers can get their thrill on with numerous rides — including rollercoasters! Other adventures include archery, ax throwing, fishing, petting zoo and an alligator exhibit.
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
Many of America’s best artists have played at this top outdoor venue, including Jimmy Buffett, Dave Matthews Band, Ozzy Osbourne, Jack Johnson, Alabama, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kenny Chesney and Frank Sinatra. The Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera and Houston Ballet make regular appearances as well.
If you’re going to spend a day on the lake, make sure it’s a big one. Lake Conroe spans 21,000 acres and is a popular spot for fishing, boating and skiing and swimming. People can camp, hike, picnic and bird watch along the shore. Numerous restaurants are available for everything from snacking to celebratory dinners.

Kleb Woods Nature Preserve and Center
Traverse the nearly four miles of trails found in this 133.5-acre preserve. In addition to trails, there is a wetlands area, picnic area, 4,000-square-foot education center and plenty of wildlife.
Once a railroad hub, Old Town Spring is home to more than 100 businesses and attracts tourists from miles away. In addition to unique boutiques and fabulous dining options, the historic town is home to one of the area’s best holiday celebrations.
