Get Your Yodel On at the Tomball German Fest Christmas Market
Santa’s workshop will be brimming with Oktoberfest vibes, complete with twinkling lights and festive decorations that would make even the Grinch crack a smile at the Tomball German Fest Christmas Market, Dec. 13-15.
The festivities kick off near the Historical Train Depot Plaza, turning the heart of Tomball into a bustling hub of holiday cheer. You’ll find the streets packed with happy festivalgoers, all soaking in that infectious vibe that can only be described as gemütlichkeit—German for that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you’re surrounded by good food, great people and possibly someone wearing a giant pretzel costume with a Santa hat perched on top.
In addition to more than 150 vendors hawking everything from German nutcrackers to Texas-themed Christmas ornaments, you’ll enjoy live entertainment on four stages. From the polka beats laid down by the Alex Meixner Band to the twirling Das ist Keine Kunst German Folk Dance Troupe you are sure to find something that will get your toes tapping.
Make sure to swing by the "Weihnachtshaus" inside the Community Center at 221 Market Street. It’s a festive wonderland of German goodies and souvenirs.
Feeling competitive? Step right up! The festival offers a smorgasbord of contests to let your inner goofball shine. First up, the Bier Stein Hoist Contest. Not to be outdone, the Chicken Dance Contest will have you flapping your wings like there’s no tomorrow. There’s also a Best Dressed German Contest where your lederhosen or dirndl can steal the spotlight.
Admission is free. Plus, there's a free shuttle service from HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball, so you can leave the car at home and avoid the parking hassle.
