Kresston Breaks Ground on Legends Pointe Amenity Complex
City of Magnolia officials, Magnolia Independent School District staff, local Realtors, Johnson Development employees and builder partners gathered in Kresston Tuesday for the groundbreaking of the community’s Legends Pointe amenity complex and nearby model homes.
Located in along approximately 10 acres in Kresston’s Heartland District, Legends Pointe will feature four pickleball courts, a 2,000-square-foot splash pad, open event lawn, playground and the Boot House, a 3,000-square-foot welcome center designed by Tipler Design. In addition to welcome center staff, the Boot House will also have space for resident events, a kitchen and offices for the development team. The Boot House is expected to open in April 2025, with the remaining Legends Pointe amenities expected to be completed early second quarter of 2025.
“Legends Pointe will reflect the vision we have for Kresston, and this initial phase of community amenities will set the tone for what’s to come in Kresston,” said Stephen Barrera, Vice President and General Manager of Kresston. “The area will be extremely versatile and is planned to accommodate all types of events and activities. It’s important to us to have amenities open about the time our first residents will be closing on their new homes.”
HD Outdoor Construction is the contractor awarded to construct the Boot House as well as Legends Pointe.
Also starting construction across the street from the Boot House are nine model homes. Chesmar Homes, David Weekley Homes and Lennar will have one model home each in the model home park. Highland Homes, Perry Homes and Westin Homes will have two models each. Chesmar Homes is building a 10th community model home outside of the model home park within the neighborhood they are building in. The model homes are expected to open in February 2025, and some of the builders are anticipated to begin presales in Kresston later this year.
Kresston’s first phase encompasses 359 homes and lot sizes that range from 40- to 65-foot in width and a specialty neighborhood of mixed product sizes. It also includes more than 15 acres for a planned Magnolia Independent School District elementary school. The school district purchased the land earlier this year but has not announced when construction might begin. Neighborhood parks and walking trails will feature prominently in Kresston’s first phase, as well.
A Johnson Development community, the 1,465-acre Kresston is planned for approximately 3,600 homes. It is located near Magnolia with frontage along State Highway 249 and FM 1486, with the community’s initial entry off of FM 1486. Direct access to State Highway 249, also known as the Aggie Expressway, will make Kresston an attractive option for people who work in College Station, Magnolia, Tomball, The Woodlands and other areas of greater Houston.
